Best Desk Cable Management (2026)

Updated 17 August 2026

A desk with cables hanging loose isn't just messy — it's a genuine hazard for anything with wheels underneath it, and it makes cleaning under the desk a chore you keep putting off. The fix comes down to one choice: a proper no-drill tray that hides everything out of sight, or a set of adhesive clips that tidy things up without any real installation.

Our two picks

CROWD CHAMPION
VIVO Under Desk Cable Management Tray (2-Pack)
Clamps onto the desk edge with no drilling required, and fully hides power strips and excess cable length out of view — the more complete fix if your desk is a genuine tangle.

LIGHTNING PICK
Self-Adhesive Cable Clips (6-Pack)
Sticks directly to your desk or wall to route individual cables — much smaller commitment than a tray, and enough for most people who just want cables off the floor rather than fully out of sight.

The trade-off

The VIVO tray is the better fix if you've got a genuine rat's nest under your desk — a power strip, a monitor cable, a charger, and more all tangled together. It takes up more physical space and needs a flat desk edge to clamp onto, but it hides everything completely. The adhesive clips are a lighter-touch fix: they won't hide a power strip, but they'll stop two or three cables from sliding around or falling behind the desk.

If your under-desk area has multiple devices and a power strip, the tray is worth the setup. If it's just a couple of charging cables you want kept in place, the clips are the simpler, cheaper fix.

What we're not recommending, and why

We avoided cable management products that require permanent drilling or adhesive strong enough to damage the desk surface on removal — a genuine risk for anyone renting or using shared office furniture. Both our picks are fully removable without residue or damage.
